The Chief Registrar Programme is one of the RCP's flagship work-based leadership programme for senior trainees.

About the programme

The Chief Registrar Programme develops the clinical leaders of the future. It provides protected time for doctors in training to practice leadership and quality improvement while remaining in clinical practice. The role is supported by a bespoke 10-month development programme designed and delivered by the RCP.

The programme has provided the tools and resources to tackle challenges, where previously I have encountered frustration and obstruction.

How to apply

Applications for 2023/24 are now closed. You can register your interest on the RCP website, to be updated when expressions of interest for 2024/25 open. Guidance is available for trusts and for trainees. You can also read the previous experiences of our cohorts in the yearbook.
